At McKenzie we understand that it’s our people that make the difference. Providing the highest level of care is only possible by having great people and great leaders.
Through the McKenzie Leadership Academy we are investing in our current and future leaders, giving our people the opportunity to develop their skills and experience to be the best they can be.
In conjunction with Swinburne University we’ve developed a bespoke program based on extensive consultation and a detailed training needs analysis. The Leadership Academy is open to supervisors, team leaders and managers across our homes in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Over the course of several months, in addition to face to face training on a range of leadership skills, the Academy provides development opportunities including:
- providing relief cover of leadership positions within the organisation
- participation and management of project specific work
- opportunities for gaining internal promotions as they arise
Undertaking professional development and learning new skills requires hard work and dedication. Part of our pledge to support our aspiring leaders is providing access to coaches and mentors on different topics.
On completion of the program, each graduate will in turn “pay it forward” with the opportunity to mentor a new participant incorporating the “Each One Teach One” model.
