The Ormsby celebrates first year of opening!

On Friday May 8th The Ormsby residents and staff gathered to celebrate one year since opening its doors.

Each resident was gifted a brass compass to thank them for being part a very successful year. Jo who was one of the first residents on opening day said, “I just love my antique brass compass I received as a gift. If I get lost in the facility, I can use it to find my way home!” she said. Other residents popped the compass on their walkers and Kevin who used to be a pilot and said that the compass reminded him of all his years flying and it was great for him to reminisce of the days gone by, “It reminds me of when we used to use these devices to find our way around and makes me feel secure that we are all heading in the right direction.”

Our amazing Lifestyle Coordinator, Petra took the opportunity to thank staff and presented Andrea, Facility Manager with a beautiful flower arrangement and heartfelt card signed by staff and residents. A huge cake was brought out and they shared a slideshow of all the wonderful memories over the past year while looking forward to another great year ahead.

The celebrations continued as residents showed off their fabulous masks ready for the masquerade party. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, especially when Colin (resident of The Ormsby) delighted the crowd with his wonderful ragtime tunes on the piano.
